Job Summary

Join a dedicated and family-friendly pediatric unit in Elmira, New York, focused on providing exceptional care to general pediatric patients. This role offers the opportunity to work within a supportive team environment, ensuring a patient-friendly approach to care delivery.

The successful candidate will be responsible for direct patient care on a general pediatric unit, with the potential to float to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) to assist with feeder/grower infants. This position requires a compassionate and skilled RN committed to pediatric health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to general pediatric patients.
• Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as prescribed.
• Initiate and maintain intravenous (IV) access.
• Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions, reporting changes to the healthcare team.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, families, and other healthcare professionals.
• Float to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) as needed to care for feeder/grower infants.
• Educate patients and families on health conditions, treatments, and home care instructions.

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Current PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification.
• Demonstrated experience with IV start procedures.
• Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in a pediatric acute care setting.
